I love a parade

Finally, a chance to be in the Homecoming Parade! OK, so it wasn't as a queen candidate but what a blast! A contingent of alums from the Class of 1967 walked in the parade on Friday. In case we wimped out, Keith Clark drove a very nice Chevy pickup courtesy of Essig-Magee, but we all made the entire route on our own two feet.

We threw candy to little kids who made no pretense of being there for the parade; they all had huge bags in which to stuff their take. From the crowd along the parade route, old friends, relatives, and co-workers called our names occasionally. One longtime friend gave me a hug and a necklace of green (of course, green) beads. Lots of people were wearing these green beads but our class must have been bonding at the line-up spot because we had no idea from whence they came.
